Tika R. Basnet is the founder of Manifest Bhutan, a travel initiative shaped by his belief that Bhutan should be experienced with honesty, respect, and a deep sense of responsibility. A practicing lawyer educated at the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law, he brings a rare blend of legal insight, cultural understanding, and community experience to the world of travel. His professional life spans corporate law, FDI advisory, regulatory consulting, and extensive work with both Bhutanese and international clients—experience that has shaped his appreciation for precision, ethics, and clarity in everything he builds.
The idea for Manifest Bhutan began not as a business plan, but as a personal commitment to show Bhutan in a meaningful way. Through years of working with communities, CSOs, and social enterprises—and while leading his own law firm—Basnet saw that many legal visitors were searching for more than curated tours. They wanted to understand Bhutan’s values, its people, and its evolving identity. His background working on youth projects, community initiatives, and social-impact programs reinforced his belief that travel could serve a deeper purpose. Manifest Bhutan was created to reflect that: small in scale, grounded in sincerity, and built around the simple idea that travel should benefit both the guest and the community.
Basnet’s leadership is strongly shaped by his legal training. He approaches each journey with the mindset of a lawyer—listening carefully, respecting perspectives, and ensuring that every detail is handled responsibly. He has guided companies, CSOs, and government-related projects through complex regulatory landscapes, and this same commitment to integrity guides Manifest Bhutan’s operations. While the company is still growing, its direction is clear: to offer travel that feels real, thoughtful, and connected to Bhutan’s core values. Under Basnet’s vision, Manifest Bhutan is a careful, purposeful expression of how Bhutan can be experienced with humility and understanding.
Tshewang Penjor is the trusted team leader for all tours at Manifest Bhutan, known for his calm presence, deep cultural knowledge, and genuine care for every traveler. Born in Tsirang, he received a Royal Government scholarship to study Tourism Management at the Royal Institute for Tourism and Hospitality and later completed his Cultural Guide certification at the Institute of Professional Studies. His grounding in Bhutanese culture, spirituality, and hospitality shapes the way he leads every journey.
Tshewang has worked with several tourism businesses—including Yangphel Adventure, Heavenly Bhutan, and Purely Bhutan—gaining experience across major trekking routes such as the Snowman Trek and Druk Path. His internship at Six Senses Thimphu strengthened his understanding of refined guest care, while his fluency in multiple local languages helps him connect naturally with communities and guests alike.
Beyond guiding, Tshewang is an active volunteer and youth leader: a Desuup, a Global Shapers member, and a dedicated participant in environmental and community-service initiatives. His leadership style reflects humility, responsibility, and a deep passion for Bhutan’s landscapes and traditions—qualities that make him an invaluable pillar of Manifest Bhutan’s guest experience.
